« Marie-Rose Carbonneau était une femme dévouée, travaillante ainsi qu'une femme d'affaires. Elle a travaillé toute sa vie. C'était une femme très honnête et pour qui la famille était sa vie. Elle a élevé sept enfants. Je suis très fière de l'avoir eu comme mère. » Sa fille, Huguette
"My mother ( Marie Rose) was born in Westfield, Mass. so was Joseph Emile,Fortunat, Antoine. You will also notice that Joseph Grégoire and Edouard died the same year and the same month (January).Joseph Grégoire died in the USA and my Mom's father Edouard died in Ste Justine.I guess Mom's mother Marie Chabot would get home sick. They would go to the States, make money then come back to Ste Justine, when they ran out of money they would go back to the States. When Joseph Emile and Rosario were old enough they remained in the States. My mother almost moved to the States when she was 19 because Rosario wanted her to go live in Fall River but she had met my dad (Louis Lainé) and he convinced her to stay in Canada.Isn't love grand? We only moved to the States in 1947-48 after my folks had gone to the wedding of Rosario's son Louis Carbonneau. My mother was a business woman so my father did pretty much what she decided. They were hard working people.Work did not scare them. They started the motel & restaurant that I now own in 1953." Juliette (Huguette) Lainé Demers
